Dulce De Leche itself is typical caramelized milk that has sweet taste. It tastes delicious with quite easy steps to make. Things to Prepare:

  • 14 ounce (1 can) sweet condensed milk
  • 1 finishing nail
  • 3 cups water

How to Make Dulce De Leche:

  1. Begin with washing the nail and pound into the top of milk can. You need to make two small holes on the opposite sides of the can top. After having two holes, remove the nail.
  2. In a small saucepan, place the milk can and pour water into the saucepan. Make sure the water reaches the side of milk can. Boil the water and lower the heat.  
  3. Continue the cooking step by simmering the condensed milk can for about 3 up to 4 hours. This cooking process will make the milk colour changes into light brown, sometimes medium brown. The consistency also becomes thicker. Add more water into saucepan if needed.
  4. Open the lid and transfer the processed milk into a bowl. Break the lumps by whisking the Dulce De Leche. Mix the caramel from bottom to top to make sure it is well-mixed.
  5. Your Dulce De Leche is ready.
