Leche Flan or commonly referred as crème caramel is one among tempting desserts made from milk and eggs combine with soft caramel on its top. The dessert itself has been famous throughout the world, particularly in Europe. Even in Philippines, Leche Flan is noted as the best dessert. Both formal and informal occasions will never be complete without Leche Flan. So, how actually to make this popular desert of all time? Follow these instructions to have one at home.

Ingredients:

  • 10 eggs
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Separate all the egg yolk from the white. Only the yolk will be used in this process.
  2. In a big bowl, beat the egg yolk. You can use either egg beater or fork.
  3. Add condensed milk, mix thoroughly.
  4. Add vanilla and fresh milk while mixing.
  5. Preheat the mold in low fire. Put it on the top of your stove.
  6. Add granulated sugar into the mold and mix. Let it caramelized and turns into light brown. Spread evenly on the mold surface.
  7. Wait for five minutes and pour the egg mixture.
  8. Cover the mold using aluminium oil. Steam it for about 30 up to 35 minutes.
  9. Remove the heat and cool down the mold into room temperature before transferring into the fridge.
  10. Leche Flan is ready to serve.

This recipe is intended for 6 servings with 55 minutes of total cooking time. This dessert contains 384 calories per serving. There is one thing to note. In case you cannot find the Llanera or traditional mold commonly used to cook flan, you can use round pan. Some people cannot feel more convenient to use this individual round pan.
